As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Tablet Patrol in Columbus, OH, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
Pay Rate: $20.08 / Hour

How This Role Works:
- Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to visitors, travelers, and staff by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
- Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminal areas, public spaces, administrative offices, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas for authorized access, and document observations, incidents, and policy-related violations in accordance with post orders.
- Assist with directing foot and vehicle traffic during routine operations, special events, and/or emergency situations while maintaining a professional presence and clear communication with the public.
Minimum Requirements:
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
