General Manager – Security Systems

Allied Universal Technology Services (AUTS) is seeking a General Manager (GM) that will be directly responsible for ensuring the branch is delivering operational excellence while driving growth across all revenue channels. The GM will help identify innovative and creative services/solutions to improve the delivery of products and services to the company’s customers. The GM will be responsible for sales, project execution, service delivery, staffing, revenues, branch profitability, and other assorted branch P&L responsibilities. The GM will devote all efforts toward building a positive culture within the branch while creating and executing the business strategy throughout the NJ/ NY region.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, train, and develop sales teams providing focus, direction, and strategies for the development of both Enterprise & Commercial customers and prospects.
  • Work collaboratively with the Vice President of Sales and the Directors of Strategic Solutions to implement and drive adoption of sales tools, training, and standards within the sales team.
  • Develop and execute a compelling operational plan for the assigned region and lead the organization in the implementation of that plan.
  • Maintain, promote and foster a culture that supports the AUTS mission and vision within all initiatives
  • Drive the business strategy for the branch, including the cooperative development and implementation of the annual operating plans and budgets to achieve the strategy.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the assigned Branch, including monitoring operational activities and financial results, thereby improving the performance and accountability of the organization
  • Manage, hire, evaluate, and develop the direct reporting staff
  • Create and implement systems, processes, and procedures to help manage the branch in the areas of resource management, service delivery, project costing, solution development, and HR practices
  • Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring the necessary aspects of operational management and development
  • Continuously look for new revenue streams and ways to improve profitability, increase margins, and achieve a sustainable competitive advantage
  • Create and foster a culture of quality, creativity, and excellence through sophisticated management of branch personnel to include: 
    • Establishment of performance criteria and goals
    • Implementation of compensation/bonus programs
    • Alignment of skills to strategic needs through proper hiring and employee development practices
  • Demonstrate expertise in a variety of the company’s concepts and practices
  • Ensure that operational activities meet and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety legal requirements, environmental policies and a general duty of care
  • Serve as a change agent to effectively and efficiently lead the organization through periods of transition
  • Work in tandem with matrixed leadership to collectively further the interest of the functional areas in support of the business strategy

Knowledge & Skills:

  • 10 to 15 years of supervisory experience, sales management, and P&L responsibility within a professional services delivery organization
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent client presentation skills
  • Ability to motivate a team and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Ability to participate and lead team selling activities
  • Proficiency to sell to the C-level
  • Ability to compile data as needed to business performance reports
  • Organized and analytical decision-making capabilities
  • Self-motivated & punctual
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks, manage deadlines, and have excellent follow-up skills both internally and externally
  • Must be professional and polished in appearance, demeanor and speech
  • Previous experience within the physical security industry preferred; candidates  with experience in network security or similar verticals will be considered

Candidate Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required; MBA preferred
  • Previous supervisory/ management experience required
  • Previous experience and responsibility in managing the P&L of a branch or company required
  • Previous experience within the physical security industry preferred; candidates  with experience in network security or similar verticals will be considered
