Security Operations Manager

The Security Operations Manager will act as the Allied Universal liaison with the client and will be leader in coordinating communication and standardization of operations for the assigned client locations utilizing uniformed security officer services that includes coordinating services, providing exceptional customer service, effectively managing people and costs, supporting client loss prevention leadership, ensuring contract compliance, adherence to established site security procedures and drive operational accountability through effective change management.

Duties:

  • Oversight and mentoring of all Supervisors and Security Personnel
  • Evaluation of contract performance and compliance (Service Level Agreements)
  • Development and updating of site post orders
  • Training of current and new employees to contract standards
  • Inspection of security personnel, measuring competency, appearance and morale
  • Identify performance improvement opportunities for Site Supervisors and Security Personnel, and develop and implement process or program solutions to address shortcomings
  • Develop and implement goals/objectives for direct reports
  • Conduct employee evaluations, counseling and discipline
  • Maintain open, timely and accurate communication between the client and Allied Universal leadership
  • Daily review of staffing levels ensuring compliance with manpower requirements of the assigned sites and maintaining staffing report for all locations
  • Ensure the proper and timely handling of all incidents regarding all aspects of security for the facility
  • Develop, maintain and coordinate effective communications with outside emergency agencies.
  • Identify cost-savings opportunities for client.
  • Selection of supervisory candidates and selection of personnel to assume increased responsibility
  • Selection of personnel to perform security officer functions per post orders and terms of the contract
  • Ensure the cross-training of officers to make them more effective and versatile
  • Implement changes to physical security surveys and post orders to enhance service
  • Evaluate, develop and implement performance improvement plans for officer development
  • Implement methods of reducing non-billable overtime
  • Advise management on reactions to emergency situations and ensure subordinates respond appropriately
  • Create, update and maintain security policies, procedures and post orders working closely with client contacts
  • Make recommendations about disciplinary action/commendation decisions pertaining to security personnel under his/her direct supervision

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing 60 or more security, military and/or law enforcement personnel
  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
    • Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
    • Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement, security or criminal justice related studies
    • A minimum of 8 or more years of active service in any military branch
  • Work experience in evaluating, motivating and training security officer performance
  • Work history must include each of the following:
    • Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and modify security programs
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in an environment with little to no direct supervision
    • Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the client associates
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively schedule employees for assigned location
    • Demonstrated ability to take and give direction in a flexible working environment
