This position is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect. Our Special Police Officers in Greensboro, NC allow us to accomplish our company’s core purpose which is “to service, secure and care for the people and businesses in our communities.” Special Police Security Officers act as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions; they detect and report suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts which may be a threat to the property, clients, guests or employees at the site.

What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain awareness of activity within the healthcare environment.
  • Report and document any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences in accordance with Allied Universal protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff and local law enforcement when necessary to address incidents and/or emergencies.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential disruptions and provide reassurance to staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Follow all instructions related to the armed patrol post, including proper handling and securing of issued equipment and/or firearms.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Availability across various days and shifts
  • Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
  • A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Must have 2 or more years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience or possess a college degree.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a law enforcement officer license.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements for driving positions only.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
