As a Security Officer Logistics Access in North Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support a professional, welcoming experience for visitors, drivers, and team members. You will remain visible, perform routine patrols, and help address security-related concerns through clear communication. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to all visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, process visitor and vendor access, and document arrivals, departures, and other security-related activity.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, including exterior areas, gates, parking areas, and perimeter points, with working environments and conditions varying by site.
- Help to deter unauthorized access, report unusual activity, and support the orderly movement of people, deliveries, and vehicles throughout the property.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
