Allied Universal is looking to hire a Business Development Manager. As a Business Development Manager, you must combine a hunter’s drive to gain new customers and accounts, manage existing account opportunities, and attract market share with strong and dynamic relationship-building, communication, and selling skills. You will need to be highly organized and detail oriented, with exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. A solid background in Professional Selling and security integration and/or technical sales is also required by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position.  Other duties may be assigned:

  • Develop, create, and manage a pipeline for a set of Allied Universal’s Security Integration product and services offerings, with focus on new and existing customer growth, establishing and maintaining relationships, and effectively presenting Allied Universal’s Security integration brands that lead to new/additional business growth.
  • Actively work to increase market penetration across Allied Universal Security integration offerings by expanding the scope of work within existing projects and securing new projects
  • Understand the business environment within assigned territories/markets, including: growth trends, competitors, customer-targeted alignment of Allied Universal product and service offerings, and effective execution of Business Development and Sales strategies.
  • Executes sales/marketing plan by actively preparing sales through cold calling networking, and initiating sales prospects.
  • Ensures effective control of sales/marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of sales/marketing objectives falls within designated budgets and profit margins.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners. Actively develops and maintains relationships with target clients, effectively utilizing available Universal marketing materials.
  • Meets with key clients, and maintains relationships in negotiating and closing deals.
  • Conduct regular business reviews to examine business performance; lead initiatives that drive improvement and proactive resolution of customer issues and lead to customer satisfaction
  • Manage all sales related activity through the accurate, timely and detailed use of the Assigned Allied Universal Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools including opportunity reviews, sales pipeline funnel, forecasting, and lead generation.
  • You are proven leader, at your best when called upon to think strategically. You communicate well with others at all levels, both internal and external. You take ownership of issues able to move simultaneously between multiple tasks with tact, cooperation, and persistence. Your proven organizational and time management skills mean you are able to regroup as priorities and objectives change. Customer satisfaction is your highest priority.

Marketing or Business education preferred with a minimum of five years related experience with progressive sales responsibilities in a Security integration, technical sales-oriented product and/or service industry; security industry experience not required, but preferred.

  • Proven experience in acquiring and selling to new customers.
  • Creative, decisive, high energy and ability to energize others while interacting at the executive and technical level (internally and externally)
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to understand the customer needs, negotiate complex sales and articulate total value offerings to customers


Demonstrated knowledge of effective sales and marketing techniques and financial principles. Effective ability to communicate orally and in written form with all levels of management, and with internal and external customers.  Outstanding stand-up presentation skills required, with proactive ability to build relationships. 


Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems and resolve issues.  Ability to effectively identify client/potential client needs and communicate proactive security solutions, effectively utilizing all USA services.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use both hands, is frequently required to stand, sit, stoop, talk and hear (communicate verbally in person and via telephone), and be able to read computer screens, correspondence and reports.
  • The employee must frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, and will be required to drive a vehicle on a regular basis. Must be able to meet all Driving Patrol Program requirements.  The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. 
  • The job is may also be performed in an office environment. The ambient noise level is usually quiet, consisting of normal conversations, business machines (copiers, printers, etc.) and telephones, but occasionally may be above-normal for portions of the shift.
  • Employee will be required to travel locally on a regular (weekly) basis, with approximately 10-15% overnight travel required.
  • The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to focus and multi-task in busy environment, with the ability to successfully handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
  • Must be able to clearly speak, read and write English.
