Consolidation Senior Associate

Allied Universal® is seeking an experienced & highly motivated Senior Associate, Consolidation to join our team! As the Senior Associate, you will be responsible for performing the monthly consolidation process for Allied Universal North America, as well as implementing related process improvement initiatives. You will also support the global consolidation process by ensuring that intercompany transactions are appropriately reconciled. You will also perform ad hoc projects related to consolidation, accounting and finance process improvement on an as needed basis. You will interact with other departments, field personnel, and/or outside agencies to resolve problems and to implement process improvement.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform the North America consolidation process, including the implementation of processes and controls for reporting packages, intercompany reconciliations, and financial statement fluctuation analyses
  • Monitor submission of deliverables by subsidiaries according to the North America consolidation close calendar to ensure adherence to financial close and external reporting deadlines
  • Liaison with North America subsidiaries to support the implementation of any new or updated accounting guidance or policy changes and monitor adherence to general financial control standards
  • Participate in our global month-end close and consolidation process, including preparation of topside journal entries, push-down entries, consolidated account reconciliations and financial reporting deliverables
  • Understand and own the global chart of accounts, from a micro level of understanding the nature of each account to a macro level of understanding how account mappings impact FP&A and External Reporting. Propose and process changes to the chart of accounts and communicate such changes accordingly on a timely basis
  • Assist in training new users of consolidation systems on best practices and efficient use of the systems (Oracle FCCS and SAP BPC)
  • Manage ongoing consolidation process including acquisitions and divestures of entities which will require supporting multiple close processes
  • Support the External Reporting team in the collection of schedules used in the preparation of the consolidated cash flow and equity roll-forward statements on a monthly basis
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational innovation; regularly interact with subsidiary accounting teams on accounting matters
  • Support FP&A, Tax, Technical Accounting, General Ledger and other finance functions in accessing and analyzing data within the Company’s consolidation systems
  • Have significant involvement in and/or lead aspects of system implementation(s)
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance required
  • CPA or MBA strongly preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of accounting and/or auditing experience required
  • Public accounting experience and/or working with pre-IPO clients is a plus
  • Preferred consolidation experience with multi-national companies
  • Desired experience with the development, implementation and/or maintenance of accounting systems and associated enhancements
  • Ability to successfully work at a very detailed. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required
  • Strong organizational skills and the demonstrated ability to manage numerous projects/deliverables simultaneously against set deadlines
  • Strong analytical abilities, self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with data analytics tools such as Alteryx Designer is a plus
  • Travel, although infrequent, may be required periodically
