Corporate Vice President - US Taxation

VICE PRESIDENT OF US TAXES:

The Vice President of US Tax will be responsible for the tax reporting and compliance functions of the North America business operations. This leadership role will work closely with business partners and other functional teams to manage the US and CFC tax operations. The position will report to Head of Global Tax.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting of the company’s US and CFC income and indirect tax positions
  • Oversee and review the company’s US and CFC income and indirect tax compliance and reporting functions
  • Review the annual and quarterly US tax provisions, including tax footnote disclosures for U.S. GAAP and statutory accounting purposes
  • Manage and direct compliance efforts for SOX 404 for all tax function controls and documentation requirements.
  • Provide the department with technical tax analysis in all areas of tax research and planning and identify and implement tax planning strategies and properly document company tax positions through written memos
  • Coordinate with foreign controllers of the CFCs to ensure all local compliance is completed and issues are addressed. Assist with CFC audits and transactional matters.
  • Communicate with Executives and Department Leaders to ensure efficient procurement of required tax data and compliance with policies and procedures designed to minimize tax exposure, by IRS or foreign jurisdictions
  • Advise senior leadership on new legislation and trends impacting the company
  • Respond to operating and legislative changes identifying and documenting impacts on the company’s tax positions
  • Evaluate tax implications pertaining to new transactions including tax planning with implementation and integration, M&A tax due diligence, new business ventures, and contracts.
  • Manage Transfer Pricing with the UK Tax Director
  • Manage Internal Revenue Service audits
  • Manage outside consultants for various federal and international income tax compliance and tax projects
  • Proactively manage and develop staff creating a positive environment whereby they are challenged, motivated, and groomed for advancement within the department

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and Masters in Tax or MBA
  • CPA
  • Law degree a plus
  • Minimum of 15 years of corporate tax experience including Big 4 public accounting experience at the manager level or multinational public corporation

  • Strong analytical technical tax skills in both domestic and international tax areas, including partnership tax experience
  • Experience with managing tax software (g., Thomson Reuters, Vertex).
  • Proficiency in research, analysis, interpretation, and application of tax law
  • Firm understanding of financial accounting practices and tax accounting principles (e.g., ASC 740, FIN 48, SOX 404).
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously through to successful completion
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with management team, external service providers and members of the accounting, finance and tax departments
