As a Security Officer - Mall Unarmed Patrol in Tigard, OR, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more .

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a vital role in helping to create a secure and welcoming environment within a dynamic retail and mall location. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the property, remaining highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and providing outstanding customer service to all visitors and tenants. You will monitor access points, respond to alarms, and communicate clearly with both team members and the public. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor the premises for unusual activity and report any security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel or authorities.
  • Assist with access control by observing entrances and exits, and verifying credentials as required by site procedures.
  • Support Allied Universal and client management in maintaining a welcoming environment for guests, tenants, and staff.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of incidents, patrols, and other security-related activities as required.

  • Availability across various days and shifts
  • Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
  • A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • This position primarily involves driving and is preferred for candidates with relevant experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
