The Strategy and Assurance Specialist role is an exciting, challenging, dynamic and highly visible role supporting Global Security Leadership. The Strategy and Assurance Specialist will take initiative, problem-solve, exercise innovative thinking, handle multiple projects at once, successfully prioritize said projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position.   • Legal and industry research; research new and amended regulations relating to security topics (i.e., background check investigations, CCTV, Workplace Violence Prevention, etc.) to assist the Strategies and Initiatives Program
  • Issue management; work with Global Security leadership and subject matter experts to manage, track, and remediate compliance findings resulting from corporate audits, application reviews, and other internal and external assessments
  • Project management; manage and/or support strategy initiatives and ongoing projects and proposals (i.e., compliance, regulatory, and/or administrative)
  • Improve existing processes; coordinate semi-regular meetings to help develop more efficient and mature procedures and processes with a mindset of discovering better ways of operating
  • Quality control; compile responses to requests for Requests for Proposal, Requests for Information, Due Diligence, SIG, and Security Questionnaires including communicating with business submitters (internal customer staff)
  • Work on special projects and high priority initiatives as assigned by the Client
  • Conduct legal research to ensure appropriate Integration of new requirements and Information
  • Regulatory change management as part of the regulatory program
  • Conduct business impact analyses relating to new and amended regulations
  • Develop/source and implement security training programs and track and manage completion of training
  • Manage and maintain multiple inventories including regulations, controls, policies, procedures, and other Global Security documents
  • Develop job aids and other supplementary documents to improve processes and programs
  • Assist client assurance team with day-to-day tasks as well as long-term projects and initiatives
  • Manage compliance findings and track their progress through remediation, risk acceptance, and closure
  • Support assurance planning and testing of controls
  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining programming processes and practices within the compliance and client assurance programs which effectively ensure that the program remains current and covers requirements
  • Maintain a strong sense of urgency to accomplish tasks, solve problems, and produce results
  • Maintain relationships with and support of Client Business Unit

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: The basic qualifications listed below are representative of the relevant knowledge, skills, and/or experience required in order to be hired. These are the requirements that we have determined are the minimum a candidate must have in order to be successful in this role.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Legal Studies, or Criminal Justice, or related field of study
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience with client assurance, law, or compliance
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and experience across organizational functions. Must have the ability to comfortably Interact and communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and collaboration tools including CISCO WebEx and supporting video -teleconferencing media.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, meet deadlines, and effectively execute in a fast paced environment.
  • Consistently displays sound ethics, good judgment, and has a proven ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Master’s or Juris Doctor degree in Business Management, Legal Studies, or Criminal Justice

Salary up to $100,000 / year

Position is based in Washington, DC
