Security Officer Full Time Transportation Terminal Job in New York, New York

As a Security Officer Full Time Experienced Patrol Services in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government transportation location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide courteous assistance to visitors and staff. You will communicate clearly, report observations, and support a welcoming environment. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities at a public ferry transportation location.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned ferry terminals, boarding areas, waiting areas, docks, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points, observe passenger and vehicle activity as assigned, and report unusual conditions, suspicious activity, and maintenance-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Respond to incidents, service requests, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notification procedures.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for patrols, incidents, and security-related observations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
