Hospital Security Officer Job in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

As a Full-Time Unarmed Hospital Security Officer in University City, Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in the healthcare field. As a screener, you will help create a welcoming, secure environment by screening individuals and belongings, monitoring access points, and reporting security-related concerns. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a caring culture that puts people first. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other campus community members while carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Screen individuals and belongings entering designated campus locations using established protocols and screening equipment, escalating prohibited items or concerns in accordance with site procedures.
- Monitor access points and help maintain an orderly flow of pedestrian traffic at assigned entrances, checkpoints, or event locations.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate campus resources and/or emergency personnel as directed.
- Document screening activities, incidents, and unusual occurrences accurately and promptly according to Allied Universal and site requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least two years of security-related experience.
- Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
- Have at least two years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- X-ray screening experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
