Security Officer - Overnight Garage

Job Summary:
As an Overnight Garage Lobby Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard an 11-story parking structure in downtown Chicago. It has 2 lobbies, 4 stairwells, 4 elevators, and 3 vehicle driving ramps. Our goal is to keep the location safe from solicitors, loiterers, and non-customers. In addition, we want to make sure the customers using the garage are safe and their property is protected. This will include regular foot patrols inside and outside the building and interacting with the public when encountered.

Pay Rate:$19.00 / hr

Schedule Details

• Employment Type: Full Time

• Shifts Available: Overnight

• Shift Time: 10 PM – 6 AM

• Workdays: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Requirements

• 1–2 years of prior security experience preferred

• Must be 21+ years of age

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Physically able to perform stairwell patrols (includes 4 stairwells and 11 flights of stairs)

• Ability to remain calm and take initiative during emergencies

• Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented

Key Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by following safety protocols, site-specific procedures, and emergency responses

• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations using sound judgment and problem-solving skills

• Conduct regular and random patrols of the garage, stairwells, and surrounding areas

• Monitor and control building access; document and report suspicious activity

• Ensure visibility and vigilance to deter unsafe or illegal activity

• Adapt to different client environments and conditions
