As a Unarmed Security Guard - Distribution Facility in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution and more .

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment within a dynamic logistics and distribution location. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring access points, verifying credentials, and conducting routine patrols to help to deter security-related incidents. You will interact regularly with visitors, employees, and contractors, providing outstanding customer service while upholding our company's values of agility, reliability, and innovation. Pay Rate: $15.24 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and control access to the logistics and distribution location to help to deter unauthorized entry.
• Verify credentials of individuals entering and exiting the premises in accordance with site-specific policies.
• Provide assistance and customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors as they arrive at or depart from the location.
• Document and report security-related incidents, unusual activities, and/or policy violations in a timely manner.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and maintain a visible Allied Universal presence.
• Collaborate with site personnel and law enforcement as needed to address security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
