As a Security Officer - Armed Government Site - Multiple Shifts in Spruce Pine, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment within a government location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible to help discourage unwanted activity, and providing exceptional customer service to everyone you encounter. This post is both armed and requires driving, so you will be entrusted with responding promptly to incidents while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out security-related procedures and follow site-specific policies while providing customer service to clients and visitors.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the location and its perimeter, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access and report any suspicious activity.
  • Assist in emergency response activities as required by site protocols and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports and maintain logs of activities and observations during patrols.
  • Communicate and collaborate with site personnel, law enforcement, and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Remain alert and aware of surroundings at all times to help to deter potential security-related threats or incidents.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least one year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles.
  • Must possess a valid armed guard card or license as required by state and/or local regulations.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements for driving positions only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
