As a Security Officer - Retail Mall Patrol Specialist in Aberdeen, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a retail or mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remaining highly visible to help deter potential security-related incidents. Your presence and proactive approach contribute to a secure environment for guests, staff, and property. You will interact with the public, assist with inquiries, and provide outstanding customer service, reflecting Allied Universal’s values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to incidents as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for the location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to maintain a visible presence and help to deter unwanted activity.
• Monitor entry and exit points, report suspicious activity, and document any security-related incidents according to Allied Universal standards.
• Assist with access control and verify identification as required by site policies.
• Support emergency response activities and coordinate with local authorities when appropriate.
• Communicate clearly with team members, site management, and Allied Universal supervisors regarding daily activities and incidents.

Minimum Requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience in customer service is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possession of a Security Professional Guard Card or license is preferred.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
