Security Officer Unarmed Site Patrol

As a Security Officer Unarmed Site Patrol in Akron, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a public library location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for visitors and staff. This role is ideal for someone who values customer service, clear communication, teamwork, and acting with integrity while bringing a reliable and caring approach to every shift.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities in a public library location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while documenting relevant details and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout reading areas, entrances, common spaces, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
- Monitor visitor activity and help to enforce location rules regarding access, conduct, and/or closing procedures through professional communication.
- Observe and report maintenance concerns, suspicious behavior, and/or unusual conditions that could affect daily library operations or public access.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
