Security Officer Full Time Afternoons

As a Security Officer Driver Patrol in Altavista, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer in a healthcare location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support patients, staff, and visitors with outstanding customer service and communication. This is a driving post, offering a dynamic role for someone who values teamwork, acts with integrity, and brings a caring, reliable approach to each shift.

- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through appropriate channels and documenting security-related activities as required.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter spaces to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas, verify access as directed by site policies, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns.
- Support Allied Universal and site personnel by following post orders, assisting with visitor direction, and maintaining a professional presence during routine operations and/or emergency situations.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
