Security Guard - Utilities Patrol

As a Security Guard - Utilities Patrol in Arroyo Grande, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more.

As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. Your visible presence and commitment to exceptional customer service will create a welcoming atmosphere for staff and visitors. This is a driving post, requiring you to operate a vehicle while conducting patrols. Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergencies.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
• Monitor and report any irregularities or suspicious activities observed during patrols within the utilities location.
• Assist with access control by verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized personnel as required.
• Communicate clearly with Allied Universal management and site representatives regarding incidents, maintenance needs, or other concerns observed during patrols.
• Follow all procedures and protocols established for the utilities environment, adapting to varying working conditions as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions and must meet Allied Universal Driver Policy requirements.
• Possession of a Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
