Security Officer Armed Patrol Access Control Job in Atlanta, Georgia

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Access Control in Atlanta, GA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitor access points, and respond to security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while supporting a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access to government property, verify credentials as required, and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare clear and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
- The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- An armed guard card or license is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
