You will conduct routine rounds, support access points, respond to requests, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site points of contact and public law enforcement as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, screening points and controlled access areas, verifying authorization, directing visitors and maintaining orderly access consistent with site policies.
  • Complete detailed written reports and activity logs, including patrol observations, incidents, accidents and maintenance concerns, using required reporting systems.
  • Assist with badge and key control processes as assigned, including issuing temporary access credentials per site policy and documenting all transactions.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms and other security-related systems as assigned, reporting irregularities and following established response procedures.
  • Support emergency and incident response activities such as evacuations, severe weather procedures and area lockdown procedures when directed by site leadership and post orders.
  • Provide guidance to visitors and staff, answering questions, giving directions and escalating concerns through the appropriate channels.
  • Maintain a professional presence and appearance, using de-escalation and customer service skills to help to resolve conflicts and maintain order in public-facing areas.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
