Security Guard – Armed Retail Patrol Full-Time

As a Security Guard – Armed Retail Patrol Full-Time in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal in a retail location, you will actively monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents while providing a welcoming presence. Your armed expertise will contribute to maintaining a secure environment for customers and staff. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within the retail location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate communication and de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the retail business and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and other sensitive areas to help to deter theft, vandalism, and/or other criminal activity.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of incidents, observations, and actions taken during patrols or incident response.
• Collaborate with store staff and management to address security-related concerns and provide a visible presence to help to deter potential issues.
• Carry and maintain control of assigned firearms in accordance with Allied Universal policies and training, ensuring proper handling at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Hold a Level III armed certification in Texas.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Baton certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
