Security Officer Armed Patrol Technician

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Technician in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. You will conduct routine patrols, respond to security-related concerns, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication to students, staff, and visitors. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observed activity and communicating with school personnel and first responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas, verify access permissions when required, and report suspicious behavior, unsecured doors, and/or other security-related concerns.
- Support arrival, dismissal, and special event activities by helping manage foot traffic, observing campus grounds, and following post orders related to student and visitor interactions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or a college degree.
- Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
- Possess a Level III Armed Certification for Texas only.
- Possess 5 or more years of security-related experience.
- Comfort using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
