Security Officer Government Facility Access Patrol Job in Austin, Texas

As a Security Officer Government Facility Access Patrol in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government location. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, assist with access control, and provide professional customer service. This role offers the opportunity to use your communication and computer skills while working with a reliable, innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, public spaces, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and security-related issues.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notification procedures.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and authorized access points; verify credentials and direct visitors in accordance with site policies.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain activity logs for patrols, incidents, observations, and interactions with public agency personnel and emergency responders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
