Security Officer - Overnight Patrol

As a Security Officer - Overnight Patrol in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help discourage security-related concerns, and support a welcoming environment for staff, patients, and visitors. This unarmed patrol role blends routine rounds, strong communication, and customer service with a caring, reliable team that values agility, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to staff, patients, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site leadership when needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify access permissions as directed by site policies, and assist with visitor and vendor screening processes in designated areas.
- Support a professional environment by assisting with de-escalation, providing directions and information, and communicating clearly with staff, patients, visitors, and/or first responders during routine and emergency situations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
- Have alarm panel experience, preferred.
- Have a guard card and/or license, preferred.
- Have access control and/or badge experience, preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
