Security Officer - Access Systems Operator Job in Boise, Idaho

As a Security Officer - Access Systems Operator in BOISE, ID, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide exceptional customer service. You will remain visible, communicate professionally, and support a welcoming, secure environment for employees and visitors. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and access-control policies.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorizations, maintain entry records, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, business areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Communicate professionally with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents, policy violations, and access-control needs.
Minimum Requirements:
- The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- At this site, there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
- Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
