Security Officer - Entry Access Control

As a Security Officer - Entry Access Control in BOISE, ID, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic tech and communications location where you will monitor entry points, verify badges and credentials, and support visitor access with professionalism and care. In this access control role, you will help to discourage security-related incidents through a visible presence, strong communication, and customer service. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to all visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and credentials, screen guests and deliveries, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted or sensitive areas.
- Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the lobby, access points, and perimeter, noting potential security-related concerns and reporting conditions according to post instructions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A state, county, and/or city issued license for security-related work is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
- The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
