Security Director- Pharmaceutical Company Job in Boston, Massachusetts

Allied Universal® is hiring a Security Director in the greater Boston area. As a Security Director, you will serve as the senior security leader for a premier corporate client in the biotechnology/maufacturing industry. This highly visible role requires a polished, relationship-focused leader who can independently manage security operations, build trusted partnerships with client stakeholders, and lead a team of security professionals in a fast-paced corporate environment.
The successful candidate will possess strong security operations expertise, executive-level communication skills, and the ability to influence outcomes while fostering positive relationships across multiple departments. This position requires a strategic thinker who can balance operational excellence, employee development, and exceptional customer service while representing Allied Universal as the primary security point of contact at the site.
Salary: $78,000 - $85,000 annually. Compensation may be adjusted based on experience, qualifications, and overall alignment with client requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage scheduling: Leverage AI-powered technology to effectively schedule security officers, meeting client contract hours while minimizing unbilled overtime
- Lead and Develop Security Teams: Hire, coach and manage security officers and supervisors while overseeing payroll, performance, and employee relations
- Enhance Client Relationships: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring high-quality service that protects people and property
- Handle Security Incidents and Emergencies: Respond to escalated issues professionally, coordinating with clients and internal teams
- Direct Compliance and Security Operational Excellence: Oversee training, safety, and site operational standards as well as managing inventory (uniforms, equipment, and other essential supplies)
QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
- Valid driver's license
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in corporate security, contract security, physical security operations, facility security, or related security management environments
- Demonstrated experience managing teams within a corporate, life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or similarly regulated environment
- Proven success building relationships and influencing stakeholders at multiple organizational levels
- Strong leadership, coaching, employee development, and conflict-resolution skills
- Experience making independent operational decisions and managing client expectations in dynamic environments
- Knowledge of physical security operations, access control systems, incident response, emergency preparedness, and risk management principles
- Experience managing staffing, interviewing, recruiting, scheduling, payroll, and operational budgets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present professionally to executives and client leadership
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based business applications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
- College degree in Business Administration or a law enforcement-related field
- Experience leading a unionized workforce or working within collective bargaining environments preferred but strongly desired for this assignment
- Law enforcement, military, and/or contract or proprietary security services, or facility management experience
- American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS), International Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification
- Previous payroll, billing, or scheduling experience
- Aptitude with security systems: CCTV, access control, and badge administration
