Security Guard State Housing Facility

As a Security Guard Experienced Patrol Specialist in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support residents, staff, and visitors through strong customer service and communication while bringing Allied Universal's values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity to each shift.

- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a shelter location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating observations to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the interior and exterior areas of the location, observing for unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations that could require a security-related response.
- Monitor entrances, common areas, and perimeter access points to help to deter unauthorized activity, support orderly operations, and report suspicious behavior or conditions.
- Assist with de-escalation support when appropriate, provide clear directions to residents and visitors, and follow post orders for emergency situations, medical incidents, and/or evacuations.
Minimum Requirements:
- A New York State Security Guard License is required.
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- CPR/First Aid is preferred.
- CPR Certification is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
