What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities within a public transportation environment.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with supervisors, transit personnel, and/or public officials as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of platforms, stations, entrances, waiting areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor access points, observe public areas, and document unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and/or incidents in accordance with site procedures.
- Assist with crowd management, direction giving, and public assistance during routine operations, service disruptions, and/or special events at the location.
Minimum Requirements:
- A New York State Security Guard License is required.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
