Security Officer - Shelter Site Patrols

As a Security Officer - Shelter Site Patrols in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned shelter locations, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents and provide a supportive presence. You will conduct routine patrols of the premises, assist with access control, and offer exceptional customer service while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and maintain a visible security-related presence.
• Document and report any unusual activities or incidents according to Allied Universal protocols.
• Work collaboratively with site staff and/or visitors to promote a secure environment.
• Remain alert and observant while on patrol to quickly identify and address potential issues.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• CPR or first aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
