As a Security Officer - Government Access Specialist in Cape Canaveral, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Allied Universal team member specializing in access control, you will help to deter security-related incidents and support a secure environment within a government location. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and conduct routine patrols to maintain a visible presence. This role emphasizes excellent customer service, clear communication, and upholding the highest standards of integrity while working collaboratively with others. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and control access points to help to deter unauthorized entry into the location, following site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Verify identification and credentials of individuals entering the premises, according to established protocols.
  • Provide customer service by responding to inquiries and assisting visitors, contractors, and/or employees as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, initiating emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the location and its perimeter to observe for irregularities and report security-related concerns.
  • Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to company and client guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and on-site personnel to maintain a secure and welcoming environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
