As a Security Officer - Warehouse Access Control in Carlisle, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor visitor and vehicle activity, and maintain clear logs. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and communicate professionally with associates, drivers, and guests. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access to a logistics and distribution location by verifying identification, managing visitor registration, issuing temporary badges, and directing individuals to appropriate check-in points.
  • Screen inbound and outbound traffic at access points by confirming delivery appointments, reviewing shipping paperwork, and coordinating entry with warehouse and transportation staff.
  • Operate access control systems such as gates, key control, badge readers, and visitor management logs in accordance with post orders.
  • Maintain accurate written and electronic records of arrivals, departures, incidents, and unusual activity, including required shift reports for Allied Universal.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical events, alarms, and disturbances, and escalate to site leadership and/or emergency services as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, yard, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and to identify conditions requiring attention.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems and report irregularities per site procedures.
  • Support trailer and vehicle yard controls by documenting trailer numbers, seal information, and gate transactions as directed by site policy.
  • Communicate clearly with warehouse teams, transportation partners, and management using radios, phones, and/or email to coordinate access needs and incident response.
  • Assist with enforcement of site rules regarding restricted areas, prohibited items, and controlled access zones, using customer service and de-escalation techniques when needed.
  • Participate in routine drills and post briefings, and follow site-specific instructions for emergency response, evacuation, and shelter procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
