As a Security Officer - Power Dispatch Driver in Carmel, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Dispatch Officer at a critical utilities location, you will monitor security-related alarms and camera feeds, coordinate responses, document activity, and support operations with clear, professional communication. You will help maintain a visible, responsive presence through routine patrols and timely reporting while delivering customer-focused service. This is a driving post. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access control systems, alarm panels, cameras, and other dispatch-related tools; acknowledge events and route notifications per post orders.
  • Receive calls for service from employees, contractors, and/or visitors; gather key details and dispatch appropriate resources following site protocols.
  • Coordinate radio, phone, and/or computer-aided dispatch communications with roving personnel, site leadership, and local emergency services when needed.
  • Document dispatch activity, incidents, and unusual conditions in logs and reports; escalate time-sensitive concerns through the chain of command.
  • Support utility operations by controlling entry to restricted areas, verifying identification, and directing authorized personnel to the proper location.
  • Maintain situational awareness of weather, outages, and facility status updates that may impact operations; share relevant information with supervisors and/or operations contacts.
  • Conduct periodic checks of critical areas such as control rooms, loading areas, and exterior gates to help identify hazards, unauthorized access attempts, and/or suspicious activity.
  • Assist with emergency notifications, accountability calls, and/or communications during drills and real-world events as directed by site procedures.
  • Operate and maintain dispatch post equipment and records, reporting malfunctions, gaps, and/or maintenance needs to supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Have 5 years of industrial security experience or 2 years of military, law enforcement, EMT, or fire department services experience.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have customer service experience, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
