As a Security Officer - Industrial Perimeter Patrol in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site personnel, and provide customer service with professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, warehouses, loading docks, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or unusual conditions.
  • Control access at gates and/or entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing authorized traffic according to site procedures.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or access control systems when assigned, and report irregular activity in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire-related alerts, and/or disturbances, and request additional resources as needed.
  • Complete required documentation such as daily activity reports, incident reports, and maintenance or hazard notifications, using clear and timely communication.
  • Support operational continuity by coordinating with site contacts on deliveries, contractor check-in, and restricted-area access while following site policies.
  • Perform required checks of doors, gates, and secured areas during rounds, and report unsecured conditions and/or damaged property through the appropriate channels.
  • Provide directions and general assistance to employees, drivers, and visitors while maintaining a professional presence and customer-focused approach.
  • Participate in required training, briefings, and post assignments, and follow all Allied Universal and site-specific policies while on duty.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
