As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Screener in Van Buren Township, MI, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
Pay Rate: $17.43 / Hour

How This Role Works:
- Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, following post orders, and/or supporting emergency response activities when appropriate at a logistics and distribution location.
- Respond to incidents, operational concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related issues through proper channels.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout loading areas, parking areas, trailer yards, warehouse exterior zones, and perimeter access points as assigned.
- Monitor entry and exit activity for employees, visitors, and/or vendors, helping to verify authorized access and reporting unusual activity, damaged barriers, and/or unsecured doors.
- Support loss prevention and asset protection efforts by observing package handling areas, vehicle traffic, and high-activity zones, and reporting suspicious behavior and/or policy violations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- X-ray screening experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
