Security Officer Armed Driver Response Job in Chicago, Illinois

As a Security Officer Armed Driver Response in CHICAGO, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a dynamic educational location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming campus environment. This driving post requires an armed guard card/license and a valid driver’s license. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly with students, staff, and visitors, and reflect Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols and contacting appropriate emergency personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence-related locations, parking areas, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
- Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures, reporting unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports documenting patrols, incidents, observations, and actions taken in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
