Security Officer - Retail Patrol

As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol in Christiansburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned retail locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a welcoming presence for guests and staff. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible throughout the premises, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures in accordance with site-specific policies and protocols.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations at the retail location in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
• Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activity, hazards, or potential threats to the appropriate personnel.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to maintain a secure environment for staff, customers, and property.
• Assist with access control procedures and verify identification as required by site policies.
• Support emergency response activities and provide assistance during incidents, following established protocols and guidelines set by Allied Universal.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possession of a valid guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
