As a Security Officer - Utilities Access Control in Cleveland, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more.

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will monitor entry points and patrol designated areas to help maintain a secure environment. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service and clear communication to everyone onsite. You will play a key role in fostering a positive atmosphere that aligns with our values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity, all while prioritizing people and adapting to dynamic situations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out access control procedures based on site-specific policies for utilities locations, verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit points.
  • Assist with security-related customer service needs by providing information and guidance to employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Perform regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Monitor security-related systems such as cameras and alarms to support site security procedures.
  • Document observations, incidents, and/or irregularities in reports according to company and client policies.
  • Communicate with Allied Universal management, site supervisors, and local authorities as needed regarding security-related concerns or emergencies.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed, including assisting with evacuation or lockdown procedures when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
