Correctional Security Guard - Patrol

As a Correctional Security Guard - Patrol in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government corrections location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support daily operations through strong communication and customer service. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document observations and/or actions according to post orders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify conditions that may require attention.
- Monitor access points and movement throughout the location, verify credentials when required, and report policy violations, disturbances, and/or maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Support daily operations by maintaining a visible presence, communicating with site contacts and/or law enforcement when needed, and following Allied Universal standards for reporting and escalation.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
