As a Juvenile Correctional  Facility Officer - Access  in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as a driving Access Control Officer at a government location supporting a juvenile services environment. In this role, you will monitor entry points, verify access, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents while delivering outstanding customer service and communication. Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, screening and processing visitors, staff, contractors, and/or deliveries entering and leaving the location.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and help to deter unauthorized entry into restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or public officials as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, unsecured entry points, and other security-related concerns.
  • Support facility rules by inspecting permitted items at entry points, documenting daily activity, and reporting policy violations, maintenance issues, and/or suspicious behavior.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
