Security Officer Armed - Medical Facility Job in Columbia, South Carolina

As a Security Officer Armed - Medical Facility in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Security Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established facility protocols.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facility interiors, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
- Monitor access points and assist with visitor directions, access procedures, and adherence to site-specific requirements.
- Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and designated site personnel.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- An armed guard card or license is required.
- At least six months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
