As a Security Officer Screening in Decatur, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, helping monitor access points, conduct screening activities, and support security-related operations. In this role, you will stay visible, communicate professionally, and provide outstanding customer service while helping to deter incidents. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and/or employees by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Screen individuals, bags, packages, and/or personal items entering or leaving the location in accordance with post orders and client-directed protocols, and report suspicious findings or policy concerns to site leadership.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors, law enforcement, and/or emergency personnel as needed.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, maintain visitor and/or driver logs, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, remaining aware of changing conditions across loading areas, trailer yards, docks, and employee access points.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
