Security Guard Full Time Security Desk Coordinator Job in Detroit, Michigan

As a Security Guard Full Time Security Desk Coordinator in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Front Desk Security Professional at an educational location, you will serve as a welcoming, visible presence while supporting access management, visitor interactions, and security-related communication. You will help create a positive environment for students, faculty, staff, and guests through exceptional customer service and professionalism. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by following site-specific procedures and supporting a welcoming front-desk environment.
- Monitor access to the educational facility, verify visitor credentials as directed, maintain visitor logs, and communicate entry requirements.
- Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
- Answer phones, provide general directions and information, receive deliveries, and assist with front-desk communications in accordance with site procedures.
- Observe and report unusual activity, policy concerns, and security-related incidents while maintaining accurate daily activity and incident documentation.
Minimum Requirements:
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
