Security Officer Full Time Screening Specialist Job in Detroit, Michigan

As a Security Officer Full Time Screening Specialist in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener at a government location, you will help support a welcoming, controlled environment by screening visitors and belongings, monitoring access points, reporting concerns, and delivering outstanding customer service. Your visible presence and clear communication will help deter security-related incidents while supporting daily operations. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
- Screen visitors and their belongings using established screening equipment and procedures; verify access credentials and direct individuals to appropriate entry points or departments.
- Respond to incidents, prohibited-item findings, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following post orders and escalation procedures.
- Maintain accurate logs and reports for visitor activity, screening results, incidents, and unusual observations.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entrances, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify potential concerns.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess a valid concealed carry weapons permit.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
