Security Officer Reception Console

As a Security Officer Reception Console in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic educational location where you will serve at the front desk as a welcoming presence for students, staff, and visitors. In this stationary role, you will help manage access, support security-related procedures, and provide clear communication and customer service. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service at the front desk by following site-specific policies, visitor management procedures, and Allied Universal standards for the location.
- Monitor access to the building by greeting students, faculty, staff, and visitors, checking identification and/or credentials, and documenting guest entry activities as required.
- Answer questions, provide directions, and support front desk operations in a courteous, professional manner while helping to address security-related concerns.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting campus personnel, emergency services, and/or management when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and communication records related to visitors, deliveries, access activity, and other security-related events at the location.
Minimum Requirements:
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- CPR and/or First Aid experience is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
