As a Security Officer Security Screener in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener in a government location, you will help monitor entry points, screen visitors and staff, and support a professional, welcoming environment through strong communication and attention to detail. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service by following site-specific procedures, screening protocols, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
- Screen employees, visitors, and/or contractors entering the location by checking identification, reviewing access authorization, and inspecting permitted items in accordance with client policies.
- Respond to incidents, prohibited item findings, and/or unusual situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report details through appropriate channels.
- Monitor entry points and screening equipment, help to deter unauthorized access, and direct visitors to the proper contact or department as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas and nearby perimeter locations as required by site procedures and working conditions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
