Security Officer Access Gateway Specialist

As a Security Officer Access Gateway Specialist in Florham Park, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location as an Access Control Officer, where you will help manage entry points, monitor activity, and support a professional, welcoming environment. This role blends customer service, communication, and security-related awareness while helping to reduce incidents. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor information, and help to deter unauthorized access while maintaining accurate access records and security-related documentation.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout production areas, shipping and receiving zones, parking areas, and the perimeter, as working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Support security-related operations by observing site activity, reporting unusual conditions, and following established procedures for deliveries, contractors, and/or restricted areas.
Minimum Requirements:
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
