Security Officer Full Time Aviation Screening Job in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

As a Security Officer Full Time Aviation Screening in Fort Lauderdale, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener in a government airport development location, you will use screening equipment, monitor access points, and conduct routine patrols to help maintain a secure environment. You will remain visible to help deter incidents while delivering exceptional customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, and personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Screen individuals, personal property, and authorized items entering designated airport areas in accordance with established procedures and applicable requirements.
- Monitor access points and verify credentials, permits, and authorization for entry into restricted or controlled areas.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established channels.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned airport areas and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Guard card is required.
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- X-ray screening experience is preferred.
- Be at least 21+ years of age for role.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
