Security Officer - Screening Coordinator

As a Security Officer Screening Coordinator in Fort Lauderdale, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener at a government airport location, you will help support a professional environment by screening passengers, visitors, and property, monitoring access points, and responding to security-related concerns with strong customer service and communication. - Provide customer service by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
- Screen people, accessible property, and/or carried items in accordance with post orders and applicable screening protocols, and report prohibited or unusual findings to the appropriate personnel.
- Monitor entry points, verify authorization for access to controlled areas, and help to deter unauthorized entry through consistent application of screening and identification procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document observations and actions in required logs or reports.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around designated screening areas, public access points, and perimeter locations, with working environments and conditions varying by site.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or a college degree.
- Be 21+ years of age.
- X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
